The collapsing US military & economic empire is making Washington & NATO even more dangerous. US could not beat the Taliban but thinks it can take on China-Russia-Iran...a sign of psychopathology for sure. We must all do more to help stop this western corporate arrogance that puts the future generations lives in despair. @BruceKGagnon

ANOTHER SPARK THAT LIT A MOVEMENT

Berkeley in the '60s (1990 - Mark Kitchell) from Stuart Christie on Vimeo.

As we see the rising of people on Wall Street it is good to remember our connection to past struggles like this.

See this powerful documentary about the process of youth radicalisation in America (Berkeley, California) from the anti-HUAC (House Un-American Activities Committee) in May 1960 onwards . . .

Dear Bruce,

Can you explain the U.S. military's role in the current Jeju Island crisis?

The US claims no involvement. But when several of our GN members called the South Korean embassy in Washington to ask them to stop building the base we were told, "Don't call us, call your government. They are pushing us to build the base."

Check a map and see the strategic location of Jeju Island and note that the US Navy is building a slew of Aegis destroyers, outfitted with "missile defense" systems. These ships need ports of call. The US is doubling its military presence in the Asian-Pacific region and these Aegis warships are key elements in the current strategy to surround China's coastal region.

Each year the US Space Command war games a first-strike attack on China, set in the year 2016. In the attack the US tries to take out China's 20 nuclear missiles that are capable of hitting the west coast of the US. But China is able to launch a few of them in a retaliatory strike. It is then that the US "missile defense" systems are used to pick off China's remaining nukes giving the US a "successful" first-strike attack.

Add it all up and you get the picture that the Navy base on Jeju Island will essentially be a US base to be used against China and it is already being seen by China as just that - a provocation.
